Construction notes:
When I started cosplaying, I came across HKT's art. At the time it was out of my range. When I saw the early images of Magna Carta: Crimson Stigmata in ealry 2005, I justed on the chance to make Rith's costume. I planned it for Otakon '06 since everything was already full and well, I knew it would take some time to make it.

This was the first time I did draping. Granted, it probably wasn't the proper way of doing it, but none-the-less it worked. I'm always trying new ways of making things in order to broaden my horizons. I made a mock out of muslin and then used that as a pattern. My first trial was with yellow cotton. I adored the color and thought it would work. Silly me. I made 90% of it and realised how much it wrinkled and didn't give. (Everything I knew already, but tried to forget! lol) I went out and bought new fabric. This time it was a cotton knit. I LOVE it. It's what I wanted in the first place. ^^ The trim on the top is bias tape as well as the black on the dangly-front-flap-thingy. The petal collar is made from leftover white fabric with bias tape on the edges. The cross is bias tape with wire inside, sewn to the petal collar. The petal collar was then attached with snaps. (The petal collar covers the front zipper! Rock on!)

The back..... craziness. The keyhole is cut out, but I have nude fabric ocvering the holes. It is edged with bias tape. As for the petals, oh boy. Hours of painting and copying the design dot for dot. Well, dot for dot until my roommate ran into the corner and made an extra dot. >> Oh well! I used about 4 canisters of textile paint. It is my new best friend. Iron safe! I highly reccommend it.

The arm warmers are made with the same yellow fabric. I painted the tips orange. The fishnet was origianlly white so I painted part of it yellow and blended to a color close to my skin tone. Oh HTK and your disappearing fishnet! >> The fishnet was definately a pain to sew. ^^;; I'm sure there is some sort of trick besides crossing your fingers.

The skirt was made with off wite trigger with black bias tape sewn for the stripes. The pleats took about 4 hours and a few iron burns on my arm. :( Time consuming, but there's a trick, so no.... I didn't measure every little pleat! lol There is a zipper on the back of the skirt. The lace is also sewn to the skirt.

The shoes. I bought them at the thrift store. I covered them with the fabric and then painted the bottom. It isn't accurate, but I was happy with it.

The wig was from Amphigory. I don't remember which one I bought. ^^;; I did have to buy extensions since braiding takes more hair that I thought. It seems I forgot about that logic. No matter! I picked up some cheap extension and got to work. The gold hair decorations is made from model magic. I painted them gold and dry brushed black on, then immediately removing the black so that it looked tarnished. The effect worked really well and I was happy with it. The flowers I lucked into. Jo-ann's was having a clearance on Easter decos. I bought these lillies for less than a $1 a bouquet. I painted them yellow and added touches of orange. The feathers were originally white and I dyed them yellow. Stinky! They were them hot glued onto the extension ends.

The staff was sculpted by my friend Monoyasha. I sanded and painted. Oh what fun on a Thursday nite before Otakon! lol

I think that's it. O.o
