Construction notes: The kimono and hakama were made with black twill and muslin (woo! lol). The haori was white trigger lined with the extra muslin I had. The mask was a plain mask from the craft store that was cut and painted. The gold cups are tissue paper rolls with foamie upon foamie to create the pyramid effect. My friend Chris made the sword. Thanks again!! My friend Ainslye and I used a traditional hakama pattern. I use the term "pattern" lightly. It was actually a set of directions with tons of different measurements to mark, plus a pattern for the koshiita/backboard. The koshiita/backboard had to be handsewn onto the hakama due to the thickenss of the fabric and layers of interfacing. What a workout! Check out the full gallery. |
